Significant construction is underway at the Manning Bridge Road / Route 58 intersection, promising enhanced traffic flow and safety for commuters. The project aims to address current and future traffic needs in the area.

Enhanced Traffic Flow and Safety

The project includes the construction of a new connector road between Route 58 and Kenyon Road on the north side of the intersection. The design features an additional through lane on Route 58 in both eastbound and westbound directions, turn lanes, curb and gutter, a raised median, sidewalk, multi-use path, and enhanced stormwater features. These improvements are part of a combined effort with the Route 58/Holland Road Corridor Improvements project, both of which are being constructed together.

Project Details and Budget

The total budget for the Manning Bridge Road / Route 58 improvements is $8,138,219, which includes $376,676 for preliminary engineering, $1,098,478 for right-of-way acquisition, and $6,663,065 for construction. The project is expected to be completed by early 2025, bringing much-needed relief to the intersection’s traffic congestion and enhancing overall safety.
